CPU FAN

Just wondering how to make a fan run on a M/B with no CPU Fan plug.... I know i can order a fan that uses the power supply without going through the board but i need a quick simple solution!

I have a multimeter to test and see what cord is what.. the fan i have has a standard cpu fan connector but it does not indicate the voltage anywhere on the fan itself

For all the farting on - id really reccomend you just buy a 3 pin molex fan, it would be a lot easier and possibly safer in the longrun :)

3- pin molexes run from the PSU, but like he says he dont have one and dont wanna get one... what i said was it would be easier for him to buy one in the longrun...

all in a three pin plug

Right - its 4 pin molex, red yellow and 2x black wires, plug into the PSU.

The 3 pin connectors are for plugging straight into the mobo.

In response to activations orginal question, you can get convertors that plug into the 3 pin connector on the fan, and change it to a 4 in plug, this 4 pin can then be plugged into the CPU...

Whereabouts you will get these convertors i dont know, but i got mine included with some coolermaster case fans i bought about 6 month back... PHEW!! - theres tha one sorted...
