i have a 900mhz tbird, and i was thinking of change it to a 1200mhz processor, my question is do i need special cooling for a 1200mhz processor, or will it use a normal fan to cool it? and does anyone know when are they going to start making 1250 mhz amd processors? http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Any time you overclock you should upgrade your cooling.
AMD has a 1.2 gig thunderbird for sale for a while now.

3bean, i beleive what andre wants to do is get rid of his 900, and buy a 1200, not o/c his 900 to 1200. If you buy your athlon as a retail package it should come with a heatsink/fan usually, If its an OEM it wont, i would probably go a superorb, i've got a 1Ghz tbird and it make alotta heat, i've got a superorb on mine at the moment and its doing a good job.
