vibe666- If you want a good cheap game (under $11) found at eb. Then pick of a copy of Jagged Alliance 2( not the add-on). The best game I own, when I got it is was $60.00:eek: now it is $10. lol
However it will defintly run on your system, and isnt demanding but it is the best game I have ever played and still play it to this day. :t
this doesnt hav anythin to do with buyin games, but i highly suggest you go get a voodoo3 3000 for 19$ at compuvest.com I used to have a rage pro like u (terrible!) but the voodoo3 made a world of difference! I can even play Tribes 2 at 30 fps!

A little off topic here, but the best bargin of my life was picking up Half-life a few weeks after it was released for £10 at a car-boot sale, I'm still playing it now some 4 or so years (I can't remember anymore, I've lost all account of time) later, I reckon I've not had to pay even half a penny for every hour I've played it, that almost beats warez for value for money :D
And yeah, upgrade your vidcard if you can't afford to upgrade your who PC, a P2 300 should suit a GF2MX if your PC has AGP go for that but if it only supports PCI there are I think PCI flavours too.

Yeah the MX comes in pci format. Its a budget card so agp/pci either one is available. I would go for the G2 mx400, I had one. same speed as the v3 But it still has driver support. For that reason I would not get a v3 and get the nvidia instead. You do want suport- or some stuff simply wont work.;) :t

"(formally Electronics Boutique)"
What do you mean. The store went out of buisness and is something else now? Cause we still have EB's here.:t

EB in UK was pretty much synonymous with "game", my town has both an EB and a game and when EB was out of something (it was a much smaller store) they pointed you to "game" down the road.
Eventually the UK game got pissed off with having to send money to the American EB, so they are converting (renaming basically) all their EB stores to "game".

Heck I didnt know that. Well here in the states, well atleast in PA we have no "game" stores but have lots of EB's and they do alot of buisness at my local mall.:t

Seemed odd to me that EB required the name change, as in my local area anyways, they were the only real "software" shops, the only other places were PC World (and who would be seen dead in there) and WHSmiths, which is primarily a stationers/book shop.
EB always seemed to be roaring with trade and on a saturday afternoon one could hardly get arouydn the place fo rthe number of people crammed in eyeing up the titles...
Oh well :)

The EB in UK was only partially connected to the EB in the states, it just had to pay the USA EB money to keep the name, whereas the actual EB stores were all owned by a UK company called Game, so all the EBs changed name to Game to avoid paying money to a company they aren't really connected to.
They dind't require a name change, they just realised it would save them money.

US is more annoying, they have sales tax which they don't even price things, you see something for $5, and then you get to the checkout and then they add the tax, can't you Americans just label the **** things with tax?
vibe666

and then you have the taxes on your taxes. that really sucks

Yeah, i think its overclockers.co.uk, charge VAT on any items you buy, then add a whopping great delivery charge, and put VAT on that  .
I bought a couple of fans from em a while back and nearly ended up paying the same amount as what the fans were worth again in VAT and delivery!!

Well computers and office equipment are often listed online or places like office world without VAT because they sell a lot to companies which can claim back VAT or something, so they list it without, and yeah it's annoying, but in USA they do that for everything including everyday small items, and that is F'ing annoying.

i wondered why they changed their name... i just thought GAME bought them out... anyway, i hate it, cuz round my way EB actually sold games cheaper (bout £5 in some cases) than GAME! . stupid corporate retards. :p.
ah well, i always prefered EB, a pity they changed their 'name'. :(

EB bought Game, EB sold Game, Game bought EB :D
Game have only bought a licence until 2005 however, so EB stores may start to reappear in the UK in 3/4yrs.

Here where I live EB sells XBOX games and PS2 games for $35. THere Pre-owned but they have now scratches or fingerprints on them. Most of the preowned games were never even taken out of the box!!

Going back to the EB / Game situation in my local town there used to be one of each store and they have "remodelled" the EB store into a Game store and now we have two Game stores about 1 minute walk from each other.... and it is not a big town, there are only 3 computer game only shops in the entire town, 2 of which are Game stores.
Not what I would call saving money.

I'd also get a little more RAM, might help you enjoy those games a little bit more when you can run them a little bit faster. ;)
