So we are on the verge of Dx9 now, but how have game developers taken advantage of Dx8?

Aquanox, GTA 3, Morrowind, NWN.....

I know there have to be more, but I have a job and can't just search for dx8 games online all day. A few hours sure, but not all day.;)

What other Dx8 games are there?

Ok, so I was trying to make the argument we shouldn't get our panties in a wad over the R300, NV30, and Dx9 since games to support said features won't exist until 2005.

I have no problem admitting I was wrong.;)

I wouldn't say so ... DoomIII is a DirectX 9 game and it would be out next Summer, 2003. Many will probably use its engine - expect more DX9 games to follow.
DirectX 8's positions will be still strong, as only "few" can allow Radeon 9700/Parhelia512 and the forthcoming "global killer" :D NV30, but most new "hardcore" games and engines will support DirectX 9.

The only thing apart from 3DMARK I've seen even need dx8 is .fr-08 from www.the-product.de It's only 64kb, and it's a great demo, It's 64kb and definately worth the download.

Noooo, all the newer games are dx8- you can run them with a dx7 suprot only card (like G2's and G4 mx's) but you miss out on the pixel shaders and such thats all. Just a matter of performance is all.;)
