I am going to get this... I have read a few reviews on it... looks pretty good to me. How does it compare to the TDK VeloCD or the Plextor Plexwriter 12/10/32? It is about 250 bucks.... price doesn't matter for me... this is the only one I can get here...

Get the TDK VeloCD for $140 after rebate from buy.com. It was about $190 with 50CDRs. Then TDK has a rebate for $50 on the burner and $10 on the CDRs. A great deal on the best burner available. Plextor and TDK are the same drive. Make sure you give Nero5 a try also. I used adaptec on my burner at home, and this is much better imo. Why pay $250? That is way too much for a 12X. Yes, I did notice you said it is the only one you can get there. Are you saying locally? That price seems like retail. Can't you get it online? I don't know how good that drive is, but I know it's not better then TDK/Plextor drive. I wish I still had the copy of Maximum PC where they compared burners. I think it was last months, with the pentium4 on the cover. They reviewed all the drives.

Wow... thats pretty cheap! Well, I am getting it at a GameStop http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif I don't want to order online and I DO have that MaximumPC... they didn't include the Creative CD-RW Blaster http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

Anyone? I also live on Guam, that would probably void any rebates or anything anyway. So tell me, should I get this drive? And anyway, if it has BURN proof... it HAS to be the same drive as TDK and Plextor, right? Creative has a small software package though.
