Where did directx8.1 go ?

ECS K7S5A 3.1 now at 133/133
AMD 1900+ stock fan for now
Samsung 256 PC 2100
Radeon 8500 128 mb
ATI TV tuner
SBlive value with FPS 2000 digital
Maxtor 40 GB ATA 133 7200
DVD Rom & a 10x12x32 burner
ADSL modem, using onboard lan
24" case with HD cooler fans 2 extra side case fans and an extra top exhaust fan. All 80 mm fans.

Case temp of 34 C and CPU temp of 43 C

3Dmark 2001Se score of 8784 at 640 x 480

Can't seem to run 3dmark 2001 anymore.
I keep getting flags saying
"can't detect direct x 8.1 compatable device"
and asks to check my settings.
Although nothing has changed, I don't think.
How exactly do I check to see what version of direct X I am running ? The resolution settings are changed within 3dmark 2001. so that can't be it. Maybe my kids changed something.

1st - Reinstall your Video and Audio Drivers
2nd - Resintall DirectX 8.1 for your OS

To check your DirectX info do the following:

Start>Run> type: Dxdiag
(click OK) and your off and running
