OK this is a legit post so don't start bashing please. I am studying for my MCSE in Windows 2000 and will be using Exchange Server and SQL Server for my electives. I noticed on Microsoft's site a 120 day evaluation version of Back Office Server 2000. It says that all applications will be expire after the 120 period. Well If I reformat my drive and do a completely fresh install won't I be able to run it for another 6 months. I am just asking in case it takes me a while to learn. Thanks.

The liscense should indicate 120 days per install. Asuming you format, and complete reinstall, thus re-agreeing to the EULA, then I see no real problem. However, I tend to lean towards the liberal side of software liscense interpretation. However, buy the software if you use it for the long term. Contrary to popular belief, even MicroShaft has to make money to support software development.
Used to, you could also obtain a "evaluation" release of NT4 server with most every Microsoft server related product for $20 plus shipping, with no expirations! Some software did feature certain user limitations, like 120 users for Exchange. Too bad the program code no longer works through the client support division at MS.
Catch ya' later,

Thanks
If it's something I use long term I would surely buy the software. I don't think too many companies would agree to "yeah I could set that up for you, oh by the way I would have to kill your servers every six months, now my fee will be" (ha,ha) I'd probably put myself out of business that way.
Thanks again.
