codecs?

I need to get the proper codecs that will play super vcd movies. I'm using windows media player 7. I have all other players also, but none will play those movies. How do I make it work?

My wmp7 says this:
sending request for codec, invalid media type was specified.

I tried real player, quicktime, and a few others. Nothing working.
