I am having a hard time downloading and installing drivers for my video card it is an TNT velocity 4400 from stb 1999. I deleted the old drivers (don’t ask) before I downloaded and tried to install the new drivers (from nvidia.com). The file will download and ask to restart but upon restart I get an error saying that the drivers are not installed and I can look in control panel under display and no drivers are installed. In the past I had downloaded drivers and they install automatically) Any help would be appreciated. I forgot, I have win98

Uninstall the nVidia drivers. Change the driver for the card to Standard VGA. If no joy, go here:

http://www.guru3d.com/detonator-destroyer/

Use the Destroyer to remove all traces of the drivers. Now install the new package.

It's always a good idea to visit Safe Mode (F8) and clean up Device Manager of old and duplicate drivers.
