Has anybody seen/heard of anything like this?

I got a call from a customer that she had no sound at all after using NetMeeting 3.01 on Windows ME.

I went over, found the master volume and wav volume sliders all the way down and turned them back up. Then, I remembered she said "after using NetMeeting". So, I launched NetMeeting and connected, great video and sound. Then, I double-clicked the speaker icon in the system tray to get the mixer on-screen and shutdown NetMeeting. I watched in amazement as both the master volume and wav volume sliders dropped to the bottom as NetMeeting exited normally.

So, she was right, no sound after exiting NetMeeting, until you put the sliders back up.

I couldn't find any settings within NetMeeting that would account for this behavior and I've found nothing anywhere on Microsoft's various sites and the Knowledgebase after 3 hours of searching. An on-line support submission to their techs got me a reply that's already in the KB and doesn't apply.

I going out of town for a couple of days and will be a real happy camper if I get back to find one of you fine people has an answer to this problem.

Thanks

well, you might try to recalibrate netmeeting,
maybe it adjusts the volume so that its optimum for its useage and never returns it to normal.... sorry man, thats the best guess i have.
