I've only just discovered Doom (I'm a little slow on the uptake here I know ;) ). I downloaded Doom95 & I'm hooked - the trouble is its constantly crashing to BSOD (fatal exception OE 0028:02500240 to be exact).
I've had a hunt on the internet & it could be because the game wasn't designed to be played under Win98, or my sound card or my graphics card. Does anyone know if any of this is right? Its the most stable if I run it in 256 colours, 640 x 480 screen size, but it still crashes. If I got the full retail version would I still have constant crashes do you think? There's a seller on Ebay with Doom, Doom II & Final Doom for £10 inc postage.
I'm running Win98se, 512Mb RAM, Nvidia TNT Aladdin onboard AGP graphics (32Mb) & Videologic Sonicfurry sound card.

Thanks for any help

should work fine, i remember playing a DM with my lil' bro, sister and dad... my sister was the master, she kicked all of our arses like 15/0 to my -132/5 :)

go get the games, they are great for a laugh at lan parties.

as for the problem, try getting your latest soundcard/video card drivers and see if that solves the problem...

ps.
I finally learned how to beat my sister using the RUN and STRAFE keys... she never challeneged me again! :)
