NWN : How to buy(or make) best equipment ?

Hello there,
At now I'm playing NWN Chapter 2 , at this chapter I can't find a good equipment for my character , I can't find a place that can create best weapon like chapter 1 ( in a weapon store of Chapter 1 , there is an old blacksmith that give you a weapon book and can create best equipment for you) , and one thing I wonder : is there only one place in Chapter 1 that can create best equiptment ? and where is my weapon book when I travelled in chapter 2 ? Or in chapter 2 there is no place that can create weapon so the game took away my book :confused: Can anyone help me a hand ?

no offence but WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!? where is this 'best weapon' shop, ive never seen it.

In chapter 1 there is only one blacksmith. The book disappears in chapter two because there is no blacksmith. He will come back later in the game. Much of the stuff that they make isnt very good though, all the stuff i used in the game was way better than everything they had and I found it all with the exception of a sword that I had the blacksmith make.

there are a lot of gems in NWN but when you wish to create a weapon it always require a "special" gem : adamatite or diamond, I call "special" because you don't have or less change to find them , what's wrong here ? A lot of useless gems found everywhere ,what did they use for , these useless gems ? and how to find adamatite or diamond ? Give me your thought !!! :D

The useless gems are good for trading in and getting gmoney from them. Saphires and rubies are worth big money.

There are only 2 diamonds that I found in NWN. I found one in chapter 1 in town and another in chapter 3 or 4. I found a bunch of adamantite, prolly 3 or 4 pieces i think in caves somewhere. I never made anything cool wtih it.

Thanks BadbadNeil , I agreed with your opinion , but I wonder is it a weak point of NWN ? Give the player a book that can make best equipment but doesn't have a material that need for create equipment !!! And how about the others material ? such as: Salaad tongue , quatz crystal... I have tons of them and don't know how to use them , in some books that I've collected there are some recipes to mix or combine them to create item but when I put them in one place nothing happen !?? Do I need to cast a spell ? My character is fighter & barbarian. :D

yes, to combine items (eg quartz crystal + fire beetle belly) you ahve to put them into an 'Alchemist's Apparatus' and then cast the activation spell. THis is often Melf's Acid Arrow, I think, so don't despair even as a fighter/barbarian; there is a ring in Ch3 that lets anyone cast Melf's Acid Arrow.

Yep, that's the one. For everyone else, it's about 2/3 way the Arcane Host Tower (lvl 4 or 5, IIRC) in Luskan.
