I having a problem with my radeon 8500 in opengl mode. The problem is that the card shows lines at the of the box around the game level that q3 and other games use to place textures. It is not affecting speed but is there a way to fix this problem?

Thanks

Did you just get the card and have the problem right off the bat or has the problem just arisen out of nowhere? Have you tried updating drivers?

go to www.rage3d.com and download the latest catalyst drivers.

This will improve your performance and should slove your problem.

Try running other OpenGl games and see the problem is there.
games like kingpin,unreal tournament etc.

I'v had the card for a a few months and the problem has been there on every driver release sence 6015 and I am currently using the catalyst drivers. I am also not nor ever overclocked the card.
I occures only on opengl games. I am including a screen shot from quake 3 showing the problem.

wallijonn,

I have the latest drivers and the settings are default with AA and AF both turned off. I have tried it with them on and there was no change.
I just tried the omega drivers and they had no effect on the problem.

Thanks

I just found your problem..

THis is because you are using A quake 3 mod.

when you run quake 3 without the mod am sure you wont find this problem

When I run some freespace2 mods I too get this kinds problem!
Its mainly because of the MOD.

thanks Grimmy!!. Yeah, i never thought about that. Luckily it doesnt do that in anything else, I read an article in one of the links someone posted about the Radeon 9700 and they said something about it doing it too.
