Well, if their site doesn't have a Win2K driver available for their hardware.... it may be time to fork out some cash and invest on a PCI based soundcard which runs quite cheap nowadays for a decent soundcard.

I have an ISA type Opti Chipset soundcard which i used with 98 and NT. Recently i upgraded to windows 2000 professional and i cannot find a suitable driver. I checked their website , but with no use. Thanks in advance. vintron wyvrn 02-08-2001, 06:51 AM I just did this last night, here ya go. (http://www.opti.com/html/drivers.html#audio) The NT drivers will work in Win2k. vintron 02-08-2001, 07:45 AM i tried the NT drivers and this is what i got: (it din't work) www.geocities.com/nicholas713/untitled.bmp (http://www.geocities.com/nicholas713/untitled.bmp) please help me... i don't want to spend money on something like a sound card... thanks jbravoj 02-08-2001, 08:43 AM have you tried going to drivers guide. http://www.driversguide.com/ I recently had trouble finding a driver for a sound card. went there and found it right away. wyvrn 02-08-2001, 08:52 AM jbravoj, If the manufacturer does not have the driver, most likely no one else is going to either unless they wrote their own. Vinton, Please use jpegs or gifs instead of bitmaps. I can compress most bitmaps 95% when using winzip, so you can see how much space they waste. Besides, that appears to be blank. Which card do you use? I used the first one listed. This is how I installed. Removed all items under "sound cards" in device manager. Use the .exe downloaded from opti to extract the inf file to folder. Then manually added a sound card via the device manager and pointed it to the directory with oemsetup.inf file. Rebooted, and soundcard worked. I ignored the messages about not being a certified Win2k driver. Does this help? vintron 02-08-2001, 02:04 PM hey, thanks for all the replies so far. wyvrn i did exactly the same thing. I selected the "oem....inf" file but win2k prof said that it couldn't find a suitable driver. Could u please email the file u downloaded to me (thunderb0lt@rom101.com) ? Also, kindly provide a step-by-step walkthrough in the email... so that i can know if i am doing something wrong. Thanks a lot SysOpt.com
