Does anybody know how I can revive my Smartmedia card after I formatted the card in my MP3 player? Now it is unusable. I believe I deleted a critical file that needs to be in the card. I caanot use it in my Olympus dig. camera nor in my Mp3 player.
My MP3 player is a Creative Nomad II MG.
Rio has a shareware that allows you to recover the critical file, but I have not found one for my Nomad II MG.
What a bummer!
Please help!
Thank you

I just got a digital camera myself,I have an HP Photosmart 315, but it uses Compact Flash Memory.
since you have an Olympus maybe try this website, it has a lot of links http://www.fratkin.com/d320l/links.html
Does the Olympus let you format the card?
Maybe you need to go to the Smart Media card website of the particular brand that you have and see if they have the file?
I am guessing you'll prolly need a Compact Flash disk reader to format/reinstall the file if it is available.
Check the links in the above URL.
I have an Olympus D320-L Digital Camera and I also had problems with it where I wasn't able to do anything with it, no read or write. I also have a Fuji FlashPath Adapter 3.5" diskette that allows you to slip the Smart Card in the FlashPath Adapter that enables the Smart Card to be read from a standard 3.5" floppy drive. I just put the Smart Card into the FlashPath card and formatted and it solved my problem...
The card looks like this... This adapter also lets you use the full capacity of the memory card as a floppy diskette. Kinda handy for saving large data to transfer from one place to another.
