Does 3100 seem kind of low for a Radeon 8500 (LE?) with 4x AA performance settings.
Xp 2000+
512 megs DDR 333
Gigabyte GA-7VRX
Radeon 8500 (LE?) 250/275 core/memory (is that normal?)

The AA doesn't even look that good. The Radeon, i thought had very nice AA. Tell me what you think. (maybe problem)

take the AA off when runing the benchmarks, then I could tell ya if your getting a good score.

i did run it without AA. I was just asking if 3100 was good with AA. I got around 8600 without AA. in games though with 4x AA even Quake 3 at 1024x768 runs slow. goes down to about 30 or 40 fps

Its not as fast as normal Radeons because you got the LE version which is slower.

you are luckey to get your card clocked at 250/275!!

Most ATi 8500le come with 220/230 or 230/250

dont worry about the core/mem speed of the card believe me its fast.

My 7500 defaults at 290/460(DDR) and i can get it upto 340/500 with no added fand etc and i get 5000 default and 1700 with 4XAA. Thats nearly double what i get with my xp1800
