Okay, I've got a relatively decent tape machine, Yamaha XG sound chip on my Chaintech board, I've got it playing any tape I want through my speakers. What I want to do now is record this to my Hard Disk Drive then, burn it off to CD. Is there any simple, easy to use software to do this. This is my own music. MS sound recorder does not seem to be able to accomplish this. Neither does Cool Edit Pro or Cakewalk. I know that these programs CAN do this it is just to **** complicated and I want something that I can point at "Line in" and hit "Record." Any suggestions?

I like soudforge myself, doesn't get much easier than that, plus there is lots of formats to save in. I also use the sound recorder from my SBL, it does a good job. Have a look at your media player and see if its got an option to record what u hear.

I don't understand why those aren't working for you. They should should all be able to do what you want fairly easily. Especially MS Sound Recorder, you should just have to hit record.

Check the input level of your line-in. Make sure it's not turned down or muted.

Problem with MS sound recorder is it's limited time of recording.

You want a LINE RIPPER. GO HERE (http://www.audiotools.co.uk/allinone.htm) and search for a free one.
