I first installed something to my windows desktop. But then when I want to move the files to a different folder the program won't run. How do I get all that clutter off my desktop and into a single folder and still have the program work!???

Ummm, either go to the control panel and add/remove programs. Have it uninstall it. Then install it again in the place you want. Or just delete the folder on your desktop and reinstall the program to the proper place. All registry entries and dll's will still go to the right place and they were copied over in the reinstall.

(Stupid) Windows generally installs to the Program Files folder and allows the (Brilliant) User to create a Shortcut on the Desktop.

Yeah, I tried deleting/uninstalling it but the installer always asks me if I want to REinstall it. It doesn't give me a choice anymore where I want to put it. Anyone know how to fix this?

Roy made me chuckle. Stop installing on the desktop, your palms will grow hair.

Anyway, what they mean is unistall, stop. Install again, stop.

If you choose reinstall, the intsaller thinks you want to 'refresh' your install and will not prompt you.

What's the name of this program, or is that the reason why you don't want it on your desktop for all to see?

Do I detect the dark side of darkmallard coming out at SysOpt?

Use the UNINSTALL to remove the program (DO NOT delete): Start>Settings>Control Panel, open the Add/Remove Programs icon. Select the program and click on remove. Reboot then install the program an install it to the C:\Program Filse directory.
It is recommended to install all future programs to that directory.

Why would you install to your desktop?
