i was wondering if 2128 megs of Memory bandwidth is good for DDR 333. (512 megs of it: OC systems) I have a Gigabyte GA-7VRX and an XP 2000+ processor. I thought that DDR 333 is supposed to be higher than that. Like 2.5 gigs. Im using Sisoft Sandra 2002 Pro. It is the same bandwidth as my chipset. (Sandra gives chipset scores above the memorys) I was wondering if maybe the chipset (KT333) is slowing it down to 266.

Do you really have 2 gigs of ram? What a waste. Go into your BIOS and make sure your RAM is set for 333, your board might be defaulting to 266.

No read it again-

" 2128 megs of Memory bandwidth "
thats bandwidth not amount. Yes that is low I think. But I use rdram so I cant help ya!

"(512 megs of it: OC systems)"

Its 512mb of Overclockers brand. Which is nothing special other than tested chips that O'clock stable to a certain speed and usually have a ramsink on them to O'clock even higher.:t

Since SiSoft Sandra does not know how to read the KT333 chipset. This software thinks this is a KT266a chipset.
The bandwidth you are getting is a good read.
I am getting 2337mb with a setting of 10.5x166, using 256mb of PC3000 OCS memory guaranteed to run at 375mhz w/copper heat spreaders. I use SiSoft Sandra 2002 Pro.
OCS memory will not stand up to running at CL2 if the system is OC'ed, it is rated at CL2.
I have to set the memory to CL2.5 in order OC the system for better performance with no crashes.
If I want to operate it at CL2, I have to reduce the system to a stock mhz, and set the memory to 166mhz.
Any overclock will result in BSOD, or corrupt files unless I set the memory to CL2.5, I can set the rest of the memory to Turbo settings and Command rate to 2. The system will not operate at Command rate of 1 unless again no OC at all.
OCSystems does not guarantee the memory to OC and still operate at specified ratings.
Wish I had purchased Crucial, or one of the better OC'ing memory now.
The Crucial PC2100 I have will run at the same specs as the OCS PC3000 OC'ed.
So with these realities, the Crucial is just as good as OCS or maybe better if OC'ing the system.
I also have Samsung PC2700 with the chips oposite sides of the PCB, there is no much difference between Samsung and the PCS PC3000 in performance.

thanks for the insight. I looked and it said i had a Apollo KT 266 chipset. I actually have a KT333 chipset. I kind of figured it was ok. And yes i have 512 megs of Ram, not 2 gigs, thats the bandwidth. Thanks for the help. oh and im not trying to oc it.
