I just downloadedd and ran pcmark 2002. When I checkeed the comparison, my scores were pretty pathetic.

System: Asus A7V via kt133, Geforce2 mx 400, AMD athlon 750, 650 mb pc-133 sdram

Scores: CPU 1950, Mem 1947, HDD 962

Questions:

1. Are you supposed to do anything to your machine before running the test (turns things off, down etc)?

2. What could I do to troubleshoot this benchmark and get the score up where it should be?

Thanks,

Benchmarks are usually being performed after restart.
I woudn't mind PCMark scores though, it was proven few times to be inaccurate and you can't pretty much analize the scores :(

How many points do you get in 3DMark2001 ?

Normally you should just use the default settings in the benchmarks. This should allow accurate results.
