Roy 02-05-2001, 10:31 AM The manufacturer's web site should have a Downloads area. If not, try a search on the part number of the device at www.dogpile.com (http://www.dogpile.com) or www.google.com (http://www.google.com) Underclocked 02-05-2001, 10:33 AM What a question!!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif If you can exactly identify the device, you can start by going to windrivers.com or winfiles.com or driverguide.com and looking for the drivers. If you can't identify it easily and there is an FCC number on the unit, try http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/ . Usually the first three digits are enough to find the manufacturer. Using more creates problems for me at least. Beyond the drivers, it would be a good idea to search the web for any known issues with the device and the remainder of the components you are using. Might avoid a very large headache. jkac123 02-06-2001, 04:00 AM Thanks guys, sorry I did not make myself clear. What I mean is on the computer itself, where can i extract the drivers and all related files? What would the files look like? daveleau 02-06-2001, 04:56 AM There is no realy good and eficient way to extract a driver from your system. Any gien driver has several files that are dispersed throughout the system as .dll files and .sys files and others. Getting the file na,es of the driver in question would be much more difficult than downloading a new driver. Dave King_Kooba_Fantastique 02-06-2001, 04:58 AM Well usualy when you buy hardware you receive a floppy disk with the drivers on there, then during the instalation process you may be asked to insert the disk so that the necessary drivers can be copied onto your hdd.
