Got this New system running with Win98se and a Cyrix MII 433, runs quick BTW.

Anyway, My monitor, a KDS 19" was SOooo pitiful with WinME I was fixing to return it.

The words at SYSOPT and TigerDirect were so distorted that it was very hard to read.

I downloaded the latest drivers for it and NO WhineME is NOT listed for this year 2000 monitor, just Great http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

So, I get out this light-speed Cyrix MII and hook up to the so very sad KDS and WHAT !!!
The monitor is crystal Clear ??

All this with standard Windoze inf drivers too,, what is going on here,,

WhyME is supposed to have GREAT Legacy suppory.

I guess KDS is such a RARE monitor they felt like driver support for it was not needed.

Just more FYI stuffings for ME haters, seems as if the crowd is getting larger.

We were afraid to speak out at first because we were the MINORITY with the opinion that MS has hatched another TURKEY..

MY .02

As far as I know, drivers for monitors does not affect how windows displays things on the monitor. All the drivers do is tell windows what modes and at what refresh rates the monitor is capable of, nothing more.

You will notice that you can install drivers for just about any monitor in the windows driver database and it will look the same. The only thing that changes in the resolution and refresh available in the display properties panel.

My guess is, since you have a 19" monitor, that you have a detachable VGA cable. If your other system had a lousy one without much shielding and you hooked it up, visual quality would be bad. Perhaps when you moved it to the other system you used a different VGA cable with more shield and thicker so that interference is less of a problem. Only a guess though.
