Is it possible to overclock the fsb without overclocking the PCI bus? I've got a Asus tusl2-c with a pIII copermine 933 @ 1029.

No. The only way to do that is change it by 33 MHz, then all settings come back into sync. Your processor uses 133 MHz FSB by default, and the day I'd be amazed to see a P3 running with 166 MHz fsb, of course, no such thing that I'm aware of.

The highest I could get the processor to boot at was around 153, but that was with a 5 dollar heatsink. Think I could get it higher if I used a good heatsink?

Probably, but according to the page below the motherboard will not allow it's BIOS to be set beyond 160 MHz anyway. Check here (http://usa.asus.com/mb/socket370/tusl2-c/jumper.htm) for some details.

the fsb actually goes beyond 200, but the pci bus doesn't go down. it just goes up and up to like 40 or 50.:(

Set it to 166 and see what happens. If that works and you feel like taking a gamble try 200.
