I want to do a clean install of WinXP Home ver. from the upgrade disc ( not the full version). I have an official win98se upgrade disc from win95 that I have used to do clean installs of 98se. Does the Xp upgrade disc lets you install if you prove ownership of 98se but with nothing on the HD? Or do you HAVE to upgrade from an installed version of 98se? :confused:

You can do a clean install of XP using the upgrade CD:
When asked for a qualifying product just pop the CD for your older version of Windows into the drive while the XP setup completes an authenticity check. Following this you will be prompted for the XP CD and setup will continue.
