Hi all, i own the following system:

Abit Kt7a RAID
1.33ghz AMD tbird (@1.46)
512mb Crucial PC133 CL2 SDRAM
30gb Seagate Useries 5HDD

Plus other devices,

i recently upgraded from a gf2mx400 to an MSI gf4 ti4200,, 64mb DDR.

Games etc are flying at max detail settings, but in 3dmark2k1 SE im only getting about 4500 max

Ive checked my card installation - its okay, and my 3dmark is up to date...what could be wrong!!??

Settings:
1024 x 768 32bbp
Quickunx AA
level 8 Ansiotropic filtering
Vsync on
best image quality
24bit Z buffer
2mb PCI textures (??)

...any ideas guys - as my scores are pathetic compared to the benches ive seen for the slower 128mb version of this card on the net

Have i just got my graphical options set too high for a good 3dmark score or is something wrong elswhere??

Cheers

you dint telll me this before!
you dont run benchmark with FSAA! and disable this too
HAY you need to disable Ansiotropic filtering
and set you PCI textures to 15mb!

RUn 3dmark 2001se and let me know!

7537...WOW

thats with quite a few apps running in the background also mind you.

All i did was lowered the Ansiotropic filtering and bumped the PCI textures back up to 15mb.

What i dont understand is why the PCI textures value makes a difference - i mean this is an AGP card afterall...right??

well its not the pci texture value that made all the difference. IT was the FSAA..
PCI texture valure is where all the textue get stores I think.
It did make a little difference!
Set you FSAA to 0 or disable it. you should do better!!
