my purpose for a website is business oriented, not personal like that other thread sounds.

6-8$ a month or a wek???

you will find lots of themfor 8$ but are not reliable.Their servers will go bown very often and your site wont work half the time!

personal / bussiness same difference both need quality.
I agree that for sub $10 you aint going to get a good host (I do know that some very good hosts offer solutions for £50 a year but they are english)

hmm yea, after looking at PowWeb Hosting, i immediately thought of the downtime... but their plan is superb, with all the essentials- ftp, cgi, and plenty of room to expand on.

i would recommend http://www.fourbucks.net, only 4 bucks a month and everything you need and much much more. 40MB of space and 1gb of bandwidth.

The best hoster is your self.
just install Apache server, or IIS, and you are set.

Most cable/dsl providers dont allow you to host web servers...
