wonderin what the proper direction of the fan on a hs should be... should it be blowing down on the hs or should it be blowing away from the hs.... thanks

the fan should be blowing away from the heatsink therefor despersing the heat

hrmm, got a thermaltake volcano 6cu and that blows out, and i havent touched it since i got it

The fan should blow air into the heat sink to cool it up!!

I think its very much a case of what works best, it can be one way or the other, just put ti whichever way gives the lowest temps, in may case blowing onto it :)

--i meant take off the fan and turn it the other way around -- not turn the HSF upside down :rolleyes:

I knew what you ment..

I was trying to say was if you put the fan the other way wont the blades of the fan hit/(come in contact) with the heat sink!
:( :(

-i see what you mean about the fan blades and the fins, although i mainly use coolermaster HSF's so ive never had that problem, i just turn the fan around and go again... still if you can try it both ways on ur HSF, give it a try and use whichever way yields the lowest temps :)
