Hi,
a while back I bought a book on computing (which I still haven't read yet) but when I was browsing through it looking for useful stuff I found many references to Assembly language, and I thought it vital to learn Assembly language, then I learnt that Assembly langage is different on every processor (apart from a few Intel ones).

Then I found it almost impossible to find things on the internet which said anything assembly language (they all just had links to sites which had links which don't work) and I was wondering is it worth the trouble

As a guy who knows VC++, VC#, Pascal/Delphi, Java(2), HTML(4.0), and VBasic, (and has an unread book on XML and numerous others of language theroy: 3D, Games) I can't realy see much practical use for Assembly language (bearing in mind it is a very uninformed view)

So I ask... is it worth learning... And if yes... can you direct me?

it's a Definite YES, is perfect for a lot of stuff, besides Hacking.

Exactly, Assembly language lets you get directly to the processor, even if you don't go full into it, it's a really good idea to learn the basics, you will understand alot better how computers work if you do.

And it's really good for hacking.
