change mp3's to work in auto CD

Hi ya'all
I have a lot of mp3's music.
Is it possible to burn these songs to my rewriter cd so my car stero will play them?:confused:
I use Win 98 2nd...

You can convert mp3 files into wav and then into cda which are what you need for your cd player in the living room or car.

Although I think players like Musicmatch Jukebox and Winamp can convert them straight from mp3 to cda.

What burning software do you have? as I believe most recent versions will also do a direct conversion.

You should get about eighteen songs onto a cdr depending on the original recording quality.

There also cd players that will play mp3 files straight off so you could get one of those for your car, and then each cd could have 100/200 mp3 on it.

I think most burning software takes care of the CDA part automatically. When you convert straight to a WAV, the CDA is automatic. So don't get too confused here. Just burn your MP3's to a WAV and they should work fine.

I have a 6 disc cd player in my car. I use Nero to burn my MP3's to WAV's and they play without a problem. They also work fine in the home stereo.

If you want a CD with more than 20 tracks ) or more than 100 ;) ) you can always buy a car stereo that can read MP3 CD's, they're price is dropping...MP3 encoded @ 128 kbps delivers a rate of give or take, 1MB per minute, meaning that your 650MB CD could carry something like 650 minutes of music @ 128kbps (actaully, it'll narrow down to 630-630 minutes)

If your burn software won't convert the mp3's then you can use this free converter:

Just right click the mp3 and select 'decode to wav' to make the wav file. And in case you don't know, you need to burn the wav files to a cd-r disk to play them in your cd player. A cd-rw disk won't work.

Also, make sure you have plenty of hard drive space before converting mp3's to wav. A wav file is roughly 10 times the size of the mp3. So if the mp3 is 3.5mb then the wav file will be roughly 35mb in size.
