i want to get a new mobo
i currently have a compaq mobo with a amd k6-2 500 mhz cpu

i was thinking about getting a combo off of pricwatch with a mobo and cpu

if i got a mobo with for example an athlon xp cpu willl my current hardware be compatible once i put in the new parts
???

anyone help out eh?

Hard to say without more info. Sounds like you have an older board, it might be AT or ATX form factor. Memory might be different types (SIMM/DIMM, EDO vs. SDRAM - older SDRAM running at a different voltage) etc. Frankly, I would suggest that you not spend any money on 'upgrading' an old system like that. Just get something newer. There are various socket A mobos that would be a good start.

i purchased memory sdram

the mobo supports sdram and dimm

its a compaq 7360
