cpu is so slow, got a soyo svba-133 boot up says right cpu but it is so slow and keeps saying floppy drive failure got it connected right and new hardware keeps hanging up and not installing drivers for mobo

I got the drivers loaded and now it won't boot up at all

1. unplug floppy ribbon from drive and mobo. make absolutely certain you don't have it plugged in wrong, which frankly is hard to do since it's keyed, but still possible (hey, I've heard of people using margarine to try to remove floppies from their drives before:) )
2. post back here with the equipment you're trying to put together
3. if you can, get another computer to check to see if you have a bad floppy drive, or even floppy cable.
4. what bios settings do you have set?
5. how do you know this mobo isn't defective?
6. what other pieces of equipment do you have on the mobo while booting up?
