Check it out. It looks like someone installed a car cigarette lighter into his computer bay. If only he could convert his cdrom into an ashtray.

I'd think that cig lighter would cause havoc on a machine; first, it draws quite a bit of amperage which takes away 50 watts or more form the system. Second, the initial surge when it gets energized (I bet the power LED dims). Third; added heat in the case.

Perhaps that's why his monitor is displaying the bootup screen in the photo immediately follow in the picture with the caption "Oooooh! It works!"

I don't know about that either. I remember I hooked up four LEDs to the +12V and ground feeds when my computer was on, and it forced shutdown. I assume it was because I created a large load, and it got my power supply off guard.
