Check it out. It looks like someone installed a car cigarette lighter into his computer bay. If only he could convert his cdrom into an ashtray.

Richard_Cranium72 02-04-2001, 05:29 AM Reminds me of the woman who called on the tech line for help. She said her cup-holder was broken,, CUP-HOLDER ?? the tech sadi, yes, the woman replied, it broke right off. Turns out the lady was using the cd-rom try as a drinkholder http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Rat 02-04-2001, 07:31 AM I'd think that cig lighter would cause havoc on a machine; first, it draws quite a bit of amperage which takes away 50 watts or more form the system. Second, the initial surge when it gets energized (I bet the power LED dims). Third; added heat in the case. Rat... Nothing like putting his system at risk because he can't keep track of a two dollar lighter. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif Szech 02-04-2001, 11:26 AM I don't know about that either. I remember I hooked up four LEDs to the +12V and ground feeds when my computer was on, and it forced shutdown. I assume it was because I created a large load, and it got my power supply off guard. ThiemeMD 02-04-2001, 06:35 PM Hahaha.... as I was reading the info, a banner ad pops up about about running on a treadmill! Just let me finish this Marlboro and I'll go check that out! Bad timing or what?? SysOpt.com
