Hi,

I just went to buy a 128Mo PC100 memory module.
I installed it and didn't find a way to see if everuthing was ok. I recently used SiSoft Sandra and it turned out that my motherboard memory slots accept modules up to 64Mo. Does it means what it says: my 128Mo is useless (at least half-useless)?

another arised after Sandra's test is my BIOS version. As my machine is 5 years old, how should I update my BIOS if necessary?

cheers for your answer to my poor hardware knowledge
regards

Bienvenue à SysOpt!

Unfortunately, the Asus website really stinks lately.

ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock7/430tx/tx97-e/

xe5i0108.zip is your BIOS update.

Here is your flasher:

ftp://ftp.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/flash/aflash25.zip

The readme is in the Aflash zip.

This will no allow 128 DIMMs. You should really return the memory - or trade it.
