Does anyone have any info on identifying Athlon's by their markings? I just bought a CPU on ebay that was supposed to be a Duron 1.2GHz, but when I got it today, it was an Athlon. I want to make sure it's at least a 1.2 before I install it, so I'll know whether or not to return it. Thanks in advance...

Type "download CPUID" into www.google.com, and download the file CPUID from ... .H Oda's page. Run it and it should tell you all about your chip :)

If you want to check the chip ID with it off the MB check here (http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/white_papers_and_tech_docs/20734.pdf). :)

look on the chip itself, an you will see Athlon or duron on the first line.. then in the 2nd line you should see 1200 or something like that to tell you....
