Girlfriend downlaoded Yahoo messenger. Hate it and can't seem to remove it. Try to unstall, that works but yet it's still here. I go into Explorer to remove and i start deleting folders, however, in one onf the folders, there is an app "Ycomp.dll" that seems to be in use. i try to delete it, i get an error message stating the file is in use by windows and cannot be deleted. Ok, i then go into task manager and i stop the task but that also closes my Explorer. It's a never ending cycle. I am using Prof2000. Please reply... Thank you, Erik.

theres software u can download from download.com that lets u remove files from add/remove also norton cleansweep has a software that monitors every install so maybe next u should get that and use it everytime u install something cause its much easier and more reliant than windows add/remove. cleansweep also has a finder for orphaned files that were left after an improper delete and you should be able to delete those left over files that way. otherwise it looks like ur gonna have some extra files on ur hand but i do recogmend getting norton cleasweep

Go in your start menu>programs>messenger>it has a uninstaller built into it, ive used it and it works great---(sometimes msngr gets "hosed" and I just uninstall and re-install it) takes it out completely...

well, i tried the uninstaller and it still left the some of those files behind. What i finally did was go into the Command prompt line and i went in and deleted it that way... That was all i could think of...? It worked. Thanks for replying... Erik
