I just recently bought an ECS K7S5A motherboard. This is my first time working with the motherboard it self so I am not sure if I'm doing everything right. I hooked up all the connectors, IDE Cables, and Power cables. When I try to start up the computer nothing happens. I think that my power source may be to weak to support the motherboard. If anyone can give any suggestions I would be greatfull.

We need to know all the components installed before anyone could say the powersupply is inadequate.
What processor are you running, how many drives do you have, how many fans do you have attached to the mobo etc?
Then what powersupply do you have?

The minimum requirement for the AMD system is a 300 Watt powersupply with 185Ampers combined power rating.
This should do nicely with your system.

Thanks for all your help, I'll try that...
My Deer DR 250 ATX, purchased in December 2000, will work stably at 1.0 ghz, and can work stabily at 1050 mhz .
It has been working stabily for months at 1050 mhz.
It definitely is stable at 900 mhz with no doubt!
It's been also stable at 1000 mhz. (1.0 ghz)

That computer won't boot without RAM. Do you have some installed but didn't list it? If not, there is your first problem.
Whenever you build a machine for the first time, you only want to put in the minimum to make sure you installed right.
That means CPU/FAN, 1 stick of RAM, a Video card. No other cards, no drives. Attach the front panel connectors from the case to the motherboard.
Make sure that the motherboard standoffs are securely tightened and the board is properly sitting in the case. Then you can plug the computer into your power source and start it up for the first time.

Exactly, although I wouldn't even bother with the front panel connectors. Just leave the mobo on the anti-static bag in came in and plug the p/s power connectors into the mobo. Then add CPU, 1 stick of RAM and video card. You should see the boot sequence up through the memory test at least.
BTW, I doubt it's the p/s per se. I mean, 250w might not be adequate, but you would see something. I've never heard of a p/s so weak that the board wouldn't even start the boot sequence. It might cause all kinds of problems, but you would see something. Are you sure of the video card and CPU (i.e. do they work in another system)? If they check out, then I would say it's almost certainly a problem with the board (assuming the p/s itself isn't dead).

RJA:::::If you want to go to AMD's site and check on thier recommended powersupplies, you will see what the minimum power rating is.
So don't go spouting off just because you have a setup that operates with a 250 watter.
That only means that your system works. Maybe not like it should, or could. But if you are happy with this that is fine.
Just don't start telling others that a 250 watt power supply will work with thier system.
Do you even know what the combined power rating is?
How do you figure this?
What is the minimum combined power rating on your setup?
What consists of which power supply should be used on a specific cpu and motherboard?
