I thought that if I had two sticks of ram,
one being say for example...128 MB ram pc 100
and another 128 MB ram pc 133 that my motherboard would default to 100 mhz. A friend said that if I put the 128 Ram pc 133 to slot O that it would run at 133 mhz, I am thinking that is not possible unless both are at 133 mhz.
Please shed light on this.
thanks in advance!

Yes, you are correct! memory bus moves at the speed of the slower memory.

133 + 100 = 100
66+ 133 = 66

Regardless of what DIMM slot!

The memory module does not determine the memory bus speed.

In the case of Intel processor boards, the memory runs at the FrontSide Bus (FSB) speed. If the processor is a 100MHz model, the FSB will be 100MHz.

Overclocking is accomplished by increasing the FSB. Your PC100 stick might work OK at 125MHz if it's really good, but it is not likely to reach 133MHz.

what if your fsb is 200mhz?
