Greetings to you people,
I have a coupla questions regarding audio in Win XP. If you can help me, I will give you my firstborn daughter.

What is the bit size in XP for audio, is it 64 bit? 32 bit? I have a 16 bit sound card that breaks up in XP. Can I alter anything to remedy this prob? I don't really know a helluva lot yet about XP.
I'm using a Gigabyte GA-6VTXE modo, P III 733, 256M Ram. I don't know who made the soundcard but the mofroe has a Yamaha YMF 724 chip on it.

Salute and mucha gracias.

is it in the single black ISA slot at the very end of the motherboard or is it in one of the white PCI slots

do it look like the one below

or it could be AOPEN they do a lot of generic stuff

Top quality samples in WinXP are 16-bit, while others vary from 16-bit to 8-bit and even 4-bit.
Only the top-notch professional soundcards can do 24-bit.
Try upgrading your soundcard drivers.
