Will I get 10,000 3D marks (when runed on default mode) with these setup?
cpu: 1.8A no o/c
ram: 256 mb PC 800 no o/c
vga card: GeForce 4 Ti 4200 no o/c
OR would I need this
cpu: 1.8A o/c to 2.3
ram: 256 mb PC 800 o/c to 490 fsb w/ turbo ram on
vga card: GeForce 4 Ti 4200 64 mb o/c to Ti 4400 settings
OR this
cpu: same as above
ram: same as above
vga card: GeForce 4 Ti 4400 o/c to Ti 4600 settings

Well first off, setup number 1 will not get you there. imo
setup number 2 may get you there with some driver changing ect.
Adding the Geforce 4 4400 oc to 4600 would probably do it.
However dont be suprised if none of them get you there.
What does it matter anyway?

Well wth that setup and the gf4ti4200 you should get aroun 9000.
With a Gf4 ti4400(overclock) /4600 and a better CPu you will get 10000+!

I did. But that was an extreamely overclocked comp. And wasn't my own, it was kinda of like an experiment between me and my friends. Now I'm on my own. :( And the only thing i have is a 1.8A. And I need to get to 10K or above, because i wanna... hehe. Well, it's not because of braggin rights, but i'm in the market for a new video card now, and if the Ti 4200 cannot get my comp to 10k, it's not MAYBE not worth it, but the price is so tempting. :D So if i can get 10k or over with a ti 4200 I'll be the happiest man alive.

TOO much $$$!!!! Me and my friends budget together almost can't afford it. The max i'm willing to pay is $270. Or did you mean the Ti 4400?

Well, now i'm kinda sure i won't get 10k with a 4200 setup, i might get into the 9k area, but won't probably reach 10k. I'd also be **** if i get 9999 3d marks. haha. But it depends if i still have any cash on my checking account to get the Ti 4400. Or else it's the Ti 4200 FOE SURE! hehe.:D

what do you mean a better cpu? Would a 1.8A overclock to 2.4 and pc 800 overclocked to pc 1066 with Ti 4400 overclock to Ti 4600+ do it?

If you can get the 4600, try to O/C to like a 4800 or something:p

you mean NV30 settings? Dayem! 400 - 500 mhz GPU core and 900 - 1200 mem rate. Impossible with a Ti 4600. Trust me, I've tryed it. ;)

That 1.8A at 2.4 (133fsb) and the mem at 533 is a GREAT cpu-what is a better cpu to you? The 2.5 and its extreeme price-no thank you! mickey_hwoarang the cpu you have is fine-and is your best chance at a 533fsb unless you count in the 1.6A but you have a higher starting mhz with the 1.8A. I think you made a great choice on the cpu. Now you just have to work out the vid. you want! 10,000 is obtainable! My P4 1.5 @1650 (110fsb) and a very small 10mhz bump in mem and core on the VisionTek G3 original gets me to 7076! Next I'm going for 120fsb (1.8gig) and a 20mhz bump in graphic mem and core speed. See what i can get. And this is just a wimpy Williamette!;) The northwood will do better but the biggest limitaion on bench speed after 1.5gig is the vid card! After the cpu gets so fast its no longer the bottleneck and the graphics card is! I get a bigger dif. from O'clocking the vid. than I do by cranking up the cpu. Now the cpu boost helps with encoding alot though! That 1.8A will run any available vid card full tilt as it is!;) :t
