I have received several messages addressed to"unknown recepiant". These messages contain info that must come from the senders files. Mabe just a paragraph. I realize that these are probably as a result of a virus. What I don't understand is that these messages are coming from people who don't have my address in their address books. How does this happen?

They might just be the standard e-mail spam, does it say where they are coming from, or give any clues in the subject line other than a person's name? Run a virus scan. If you don't already have anti-virus software then you should probably consider getting some anyway, it is a good thing to have.

I have a virus program and use it regularly. I beleive thi virus is in the senders computer. I have contacted two of them and they did not send the message.

Then don't worry about it, and set up your virus scanner to scan all incoming e-mail, if it has that feature. If not then just don't open any attachments you aren't expecting.

If you will right click an e-mail subject line in your inbox and select properties from the menu, then click on the details tab...you will get the full header from the e-mail. This should give you something about the sender, who it was sent to, ect. "undisclosed recepiant" usually means some or all of the mailings went BCC (blind carbon copy). I don't know what unknown recepiant means.

If it is an e-mail virus/worm, the sender won't know that he's e-mail client sent the messages...get protected and you have nothing (OK, almost nothing) to worry about ;)
