okay, Adelphia's increasing price on cable modems, so I'm thinking about buying a cable modem. Anyone have tips on which ones to avoid, reliable ones, good offers? thanks.

I used to have a Toshiba USB cable modem. I know many don't like the USB ones, but I had no problems with it at all. Bizkitkid2001 07-08-2002, 11:17 PM I thought that when you sign up for a cab;e plan they give you a free cable modem. Or does your plan not do that? cableguy69 07-08-2002, 11:26 PM I know with my ISP, ATTBI, I'm renting the modem. They don't give them for free. Too bad though, I really like the Surfboard. I'm too cheap to go out and buy one. racronus 07-09-2002, 01:50 AM Originally posted by Bizkitkid2001 I thought that when you sign up for a cab;e plan they give you a free cable modem. Bizkitkid2001 07-09-2002, 04:08 AM ok, thanks for clearing that up. Sterling_Aug 07-09-2002, 01:02 PM $68 for a Surfboard 4200 isn't bad. http://www.compuplus.com/products.php3?sid=df1v98fjbypj737&cat=Modem racronus 07-10-2002, 04:24 PM I just missed the offer, ended 6/30/02: http://www.compuplus.com/fpage/motorola.pdf SysOpt.com
