Is napster slow?

I have DSL. Last week I was getting stuff at 20-90K most of the time. Now it never gets above 10K. And I only download from ppl who have fast connections. Some songs I tried now close to 50 times. Then once a day I get 90K again. I also just got beta9.24. Could that be the problem? I tested my connection and I'm getting 90K/sec. So it's not me

Depends on the person your downloading from. there connection speed, how many people are d/ling off of him and if hes doing stuff online.

Alright, my roommate who works as a lab aid just informed my that my school, Purdue, is slowly banning Napster. They are somehow filtering the mp3s. Is that possible to do? If so, is there any way around it? I can't even get mp3s on Napster from fellow studends anymore. I need big help. I just got a burner too.

I think the program you need to use is napigator. I can't remember if they block a certain server or a certain port, but the program gets around it some way.
