I hope this doesn't seem too off-topic ;-)
After shaving your face, what is the best way to rinse the razor blade? Cold water, warm water or hot water? Someone told me hot water will damage the blade eventually. Can you share your experiences on this subject?
Thanks !!!

either rinse with cold water or buy an electric shaver

OK, this is from a top grooming expert (not me then !):

The area should be prepared by resting a clean, hot, wet towel over the area to be shaved for approx 2 mins to open the pores and soften the hairs.

The shaving cream/foam should be rubbed into the area (preferably with a bristled shaving brush) in a circular motion to make the hairs stand up fro the skin more.

Whilst shaving the blade should be rinsed regularly in warm water.

When finished shaving the skin should be splashed with cold water to close the pores of the skin again to prevent infection.

Razors should be rinsed in tepid (luke warm I think) water and dried (because you dont want to be shaving with a rusty blade).

Razors should preferably only be used upto 3 times for the best shave.

Or just buy electric and get a desperate dan chin !!
Its easier :D

Make sure you unplug the razor before you run it under the tap. The best advice is always simple:t

Use Nair, the shaveless hair remover...

This lady had a dog that was very hairy, and even grew enormous amounts of hair in its ears, which got all matted up and caused problems...she would take the dog to the vet each year to have the hair removed from the inside of the ears.

One time, there was a new asst. vet there who told the woman to just get some Nair and apply it with a swab every so often to control the hair groth.

She stopped by the drug store on her way home and got a container of Nair and some cotton swabs.

The guy behind the cash register said..."if you will be using this on your legs, do not shave for a couple of days".

She said politely.."I will not be using it on my legs"

The guy then said, "well, if you will be using it under your arms, do not use a deoderant for a few days"

The lady was now becoming incensed at the personal questions and said:

"I will be using it on my Snouser, if its any of your business"...

The guy just said..."Ok, don't ride your bicycle for a week"

I wish I could help you. I'm a grandfather and ethnic Cantonese. I still only get peach fuzz. I buy a pack of generic razors every two years. Really! I use either Baby Oil or hair conditioner to moisten whatever I have to shave.

To get the best shave buy 'bic'. Unwrap and test blade against rice paper. When you have found the one that seemingly cuts without effort place the blade end under a pyramidal object and leave for several days. By this time the hairs should be free of the detritus and blossoming pustules that may plague users. Carefully remove said blade from under pyramid shaped thingy and starting at the bottom work to the top. You might find, due to the severity of the blade, a slight trickling down the neck, but persevere and once 'smooth' immediately plunge razor into red hot water and rinse thoroughly. Place water annealed blade straight back under 'shape' and it should be good for at least one more shave. Failing this grow a beard cos shaving leads to all sorts of strange bathroom smells involving dried blood and hair clogged in soap induced wisker residue. Hope this helps with you problem.:t

i've never understood this 3 blade thing, even the adverst show that the first 2 blades are cr@p, and it's the third one that does the job.

in 5 years time we'll have mach 12 - (11 cr@p blades and then the same one from mach 3).

Indeed, i am quite a "hairy" 16 year old and have been shavoing since i was 12, i have to agree that the Mach 3 is the best type of razor i have used so far.

I recently went away for a week, and managed to break my ankle and tear the ligaments in my foot  , however the next day i tried shaving with a crappy disposable razor - whilst standing on one leg and leaning on crutches.....

the results were NOT pretty.... and neither was the amount of blood on my towel by the time i had finished:(

Still - Mach 3 rocks :)

--it wasnt bad actually.

Unfortunatly i got split up from my mates, was in a flat full of what can only be described as loonies, and on the second night broke my ankle, playing footy -- only to decide it was okay and keep playin (silly me :p ). The lectures n stuff were fairly boring n that too.

However on the plus side after about 4pm we went bowling n did some really cool stuff, and there was this greek Team Leader who was funny as hell - so i just spent most of my time hangin about with him and my mates in his flat. And although i did break my ankle -- i spent 8 hours sat in casualty with cool university chicks :D

...every cloud has a silver lining!!

All in all quite good - especially as it was totally free :)

-Well its nice to be back now - so i can get soem proper sleep and talk tech with you guys :)

Designing and formatting a custom animated avatar or any animated image requires special software...like Paint Shop Pro with the animation shop plug in...and then lots of patience!!

Most of the folks here have found their avatars already made somewhere on the internet...some modify the image just a little bit to customize it.

OMFG its a WALKING DISK WITH HANDS AND FEET! how many people did you actually fight off? just strat? you haven't finished fighting him.. who cares, its a stinking avatar, it adds originality, either of you should get a new avatar and say '**** YOU!', not on it, as that would get you in trouble, i mean like its SAYING metaphorically **** YOU!, oh ill just not even bother trying anymore, people these days... ;)

and to Bovon's post:

Yes, people nowadays edit their piccies with software like Adobe Photoshop (i used, not mine tho :) ).

I would use a picture of myself, but that would require HOURS of editing to make it visible to the normal human eye... several people died of heart-attack from seeing my face... its quite sad really.. ;)

Monster1
07-16-2002, 04:14 PM
well, since your asking he made the forth that used it.. every other time I politly asked them to change to something else and without hesitation they changed.. then this guy comes along and is so bold as to tell me that this is his avetar when I got from its original designer and with his permission said I could modify it and use it anyway I like...

the issue here is not the little floppy. Its fact that he tryed to punk me out with a lie:mad:

Hey boven, you dont mind if I use your avetar and start telling peaple you stole it from me do you...

There are more important things goign on here, were not here to sort out childish "he stole my picture off of me" squabbles -- if you want an arena forr things liek that - go back top the schoolyard.

A strange question but if the shaving sesion is going her then i should ask this. Well i Use Mach III for shaving purpose. One of my friend said that shaving from down to up direction gives better shave in compared to the up to down direction as we do usually. He says that the hair grow in downwards direction so shaving in opposite direction of the hair will give a much close shave. I had tried it my self and find that it really gie a better shave.
But is this a correct way to do. Any side effects. Have u people tried it.

I have a nice beard and I trim with an electric trimmer about twice a week:x Besides,, a blade sharp enough to cut my beard takes off my hide and and electric leaves my face red and sore. So I quite shaving:r

I must admit i also dislike shaving, i tend to get a red raw neck whenever i shave, and am prone to never having enough time on a morning to get a decent shave anyways.

For this reason i am almost always wearing some hideous, scruffy lookign stubble, which my mother and father complain about persistently. One day i too will stop shaving i think and let it grow simply because i cant be bithered -- however this does NOT mean im gonna grow your typical "merlin" doormat beardo thing -- cos they look plain silly -- although it means id prolly drop less food on the floor whilst eating -- get caught in my facial hair instead :r
