I recently installed a second os Now i have win2000 and win98 se on my machine on a seperate partition, bot oses have the same file system 32 something ..
Is there any way i can run the program i have installed on my win98 partition on win2000.
Can i export the win98 registry into win2000 or something ? or do i have to install all the programs on the win2000 partition also ?
You will have to install everything on to the Win 2K partition as well to get every thing you want that you have in 98

Thanks for the reply.
But are you sure there that it is not possible to trick win2k somehow by changinf the registry, and making it think that the files were originally installed from win2k ?

Just try to run apps from W2K. Often, an app will write some or even all the the registry entries it needs when you first run it, or it may not need any installation info. Big apps like Microshaft Office will need installing in each OS, but you can still install it in the same folder location.

I have a laptop running Win98 and Win2000. I made the Win98 partion bigger and insttled all of my apps on that drive. Wehn i am using Win2000, i can still use the apps in my Win98 drive but not the other way. I have Win2000 running in NTFS mode. Any questions, email me. It works great!!!
