I had files in a folder in outlook express, special name...sent them to my documents...now they are gone from outlook express/in my documents-but- as dbx files!
how in the hell do I interpret them back to english? Goofed up? Damned right! Beginners sh** ...need them back..help!!!Ol'Ben

Haven't tried this, but it's freeware: http://chattanooga.net/~scochran/DBXtract.htm
The easiest way I've found to store emails is to just highlight the folder in OE, and Save As... .eml and save it where you want in Explorer. You can open and read in plaintext view.
If you want to get those .dbx files/folders back into OE so you can properly save them, you could "try" to import back to OE. Not sure about this, though - I don't use the import/export 'feature' much.
