Sounds like a memory issue. Tell us your OS and when you get the error message.

Are you sure it comes during POST/BIOS sequence and not during OS booting process (on black DOS screen) ? Is it "emm 365" error or maybe "Emm386" error ? Please give the exact error message.

If you have more than one stick of memory try them one at a time.
