My old computer is getting, well old, p2-300, you know, old stuff. I don't have a lot of budget, i mean im only 17, and I got a car to pay. I tend to play a lot of MMORPG, well soon it will be Horizon, and will play tribes2 or Halo, those are my games, as for 2d i dont care. So im looking for a gaming PC only, not anything else (even tho gaming pc is the most expensive type http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif )
I was wondering what you guys would suggest like specs. I want the system overclockable too. So cheap cost, good performance, brain storming session =) Btw, im looking for performance and not quality, I mean I dont want my graphics to slow down or anything, but I dont care to lose in it a bit of quality in graphics

Just how cheap does it need to be, you can usually get a pretty darn good gaming PC for under $1000 as long as you don't need a monitor. Just how much are you willing to pay?
For starters I would suggest a Duron 800 or so with 128mb RAM, that is low cost and will provide you with some good performance.

Thats pretty darn good, but it lacks a DVD player or a CD-RW if you wanted one.
lets see if we can't get that price down a bit...
Might want to head for a bit smaller of a hard drive, that should cut costs a bit, maybe a less expensive video card, and as for the Sound Blaster Live, if they have the Value! as an option, get that instead, there is a minimal difference and it costs a bit less.
Is the ASUS "Pro" a GeForce2 Ultra? If so, you don't really need to spend $00-500 for that kind of power, just get a GeForce2 GTS or something, it will save you a bundle.
Hope that helps!

Well I will be running big thingy games =) like Halo and Horizons will be long range terrains with lots of details, i dont wanna slow down on it cause of the card. Oh if you go check the prices, dont get fooled with lets say 30 gig costing 30$ when you create a system, it starts with base stats, all prices at 0$ but the real price of base is at the CPU, so the $ you see when you change component is the price diffrence betwen the base and new thing, but the total at bottom is the real total =)

You could save some money by going with a T-Bird 800 which would be PLENTY of power and, if you are going with NT or win2K, then 512RAM is good. But, if you are going with win9x or ME, dont go more than 256. Anything more than 256 is a waste with those OSs and can cause some problems. You also can always OC your Tbird if 800 is not enough. It is more difficult to OC a 1gig T-Bird, or so i have read. Happy Computing!!!!

If you are thinking of putting a system together for NEXT summer, it will be very difficult to price it out NOW.
By next summer, the machine you outlined above will cost probably $700 to build (give or take).
BTW, I use the Asus V7700 and think it's a fine card, if a little pricey. Of course, by next summer it will be old news, and probably pretty cheap.
If you are building it THIS summer, I would suggest going with a 800 Mhz Duron, ATI Radeon 32 MB vid card, 30 Gig HD, 16X DVD ROM, MSI K7T Pro 2 mobo (a stable mobo at a decent price), and 128 MB RAM (PC 133). I think you could build that for ~$800-$900
Good luck!
