I have an Amptron mobo PM9900A running at 350. I recently upgraded to WinXP Pro and went great....except the sound driver. Amptron has not made an upgraded driver for XP and don't know if I can load any of the others or not. Can someone help me out with this? I need my sound back!!

Thanks a Million,
Ray

Welcome to SysOpt ! :)

I didn't found WinXP drivers for CMI8330 sound adapter your mobo has, but you can try those (http://www.amptron.com/Drivers/Sound/C-Media/CMI8330/Win2k/8330wdm-417.zip) Win2000 WDM drivers, they might work just fine.

Amptron PM9900 is PC-Chips M577 - and the sound chip is a C-Media 8330.

No drivers? Never mind, the 8330 is a PnP ISA device, hardware compatible to the usual suspects. There are two sound units in it, one is a SB16 compatible, the other is a Microsoft WSS compatible. Install XP's builtin drivers onto these manually, and there you go.
