As you all know, I love to bargain shop.
Unfortunately often times the URL is 200 characters long , blowing out the frames and looking sloppy.
Will some kind folks lead old Cranium by the paw and point the way for the decrepit, slightly retarded, and very senior citizen http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
thanx

No problemo Doc.
you add <A HREF="the URL you want to point to in here" TARGET=_blank>here</A> .
There is SysOpt info on UBB code http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/ubbcode.html

Dr
If you are talking about long links on these pages, then the UBB code is shown on the UBB help page ( click on the *UBB Code is on link to the left of a reply box). The code is (url=http://www.xxxxxx.xxx/??????)Click Here(/url) Change all curved brackets to square, had to do that so it would show.

Also Doc what I did to figure this out was to
click on edit icon on a post I liked, I could then read the script on how they did that!
Simple - even us "old cats can figure that out" might just take longer, Tehehe

Yep, for the purposes of the UBB Code used in these forums, Graham's post is the one that works. Biff's is HTML and doesn't work with the UBB setup. (As most of you know when editing a post with a link in it)
Unfortunately, due to the HTML-UBB bug, hitting someone's Edit to see will show the incorrect HTML version! :/
Just tag like Graham said:
[*url=http://www.microsoft.com/office/sup/support.asp?lu=6&prd=word&pg=highlights/wrd20.asp]Click Here[*/url] without the * asterisks

NP, Biff, your information would be correct if we didn't have The Bug! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey Socalgal,
Why when I go to edit a post with links, it shows the <ahref= crud and I have to change all my links back to [url= . If I don't it looks like this:
<A HREF="http://www.compaq.com" TARGET=_blank>Compaq</A>
Is this bug going to be fixed?
