I want to set up a VPN server.. Any experiences with such a setup?
Do i need more than win2000 server on one network and win2000 pro on another?

I am also trying to setup a w2k vpn server. you only need win 98+ as a client. cannot use use 95 as client or server. others here may be able to help.
Win2K has built in RRAS capabilities, so that will work as a vpn server, the problem is in setting it up for your needs.
For the remote user you can use win 98 to connect to the vpn server after it is set up.

I followed the instructions on that page, but im still unclear on a few things... On the image below there is a field named phone number for this device. Do i need to set a phone number if i want to dial-in from a remote location?

I just want to set my windows 2000 server up so a friend can connect and copy music either way. Also so i can access my network when im not here..
